Chihiro is a serial entrepreneur with ventures in the United States and Japan. Born and raised in Tokyo, he attended Keio University and received a scholarship to study abroad at the University of California, Irvine, as an exchange student in 2008. This experience marked the beginning of his global career.
In 2015, Chihiro launched his own business in the U.S., partnering with a major telecommunications carrier. He successfully opened over 10 retail stores and sold the business to a major retail group in 2019. While expanding in the telecommunications industry, Chihiro diversified his portfolio. In 2018, he completed a strategic acquisition of one of Los Angeles’ most renowned sushi chains.
An active investor in startups, Chihiro is a member of NuFund Venture Group, one of the largest angel investor groups on the West Coast. He is also an early investor in a Japanese sushi restaurant group in Ginza. At UMAMI Map, Chihiro contributes to providing authentic Japanese cultural experiences for foreign travelers.
After completing high school in a suburban area of Japan, he pursued his passion for acting, moving to Tokyo to train at the prestigious Bungakuza Theater Company, renowned as a cornerstone of Japanese theater. At the age of 22, inspired by his personal journey, he launched a magazine column and, within six months, debuted as a manga artist. By 25, he demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by founding a successful livery company, which he later sold at 28. Currently, he is channeling his dedication to excellence into the culinary arts, honing his craft daily as he works in the industry.
